Rotary screen-printing is a variant of flatbed screen-printing. The label and packaging industry is served exclusively with a roll-fed product. For screen-printing, this is achieved by the screen (stencil) being made in a rotary shape.
In the label and packaging industry screen-printing is a complementary process. The specific print effect you can achieve is the reason the industry has adopted this technology. Screen print technology is only used for specific print effects, which are difficult to achieve using other technologies. Specific screen print effects are based on larger ink lay-down requirements (opacity and raised effects) or a combination of ink lay-down and ink partial size (metallic inks).
MPS offers the following rotary screen-printing units, which can be integrated into all of our presses:
- Screen printing drop-in unit
- Screen printing RSI unit on rail
