Lean Inking nominated for FlexoTech award

Lean InkingWith the Lean Inking technology, MPS was nominated for an award at the 2009 FlexoTech International Print & Innovations Awards in the category "Innovation in Printing Press/Finishing".

Lean Inking
“MPS has recently developed a new chamber system it said combines the advantages of the open doctor blade system and the closed chamber system. The company has named this Lean Inking and said as well as being much easier to clean than a conventional chamber, it also addresses a number of print issues including foaming and increasing ink temperature during the print run, both of which can result in reduced solid colour densities. The system has an automatic ink level control, an ink volume of less than 300 ml and the company believes the use of a positive doctor blade reduces blade wear and improves the life of anilox rolls. The majority of the latest chambered doctor blade systems are lower volumEFe systems than their older counterparts and suppliers believe one of the benefits that these have to offer is being able to work with significantly less ink in the system and hence reduce ink wastage” (FlexoTech, November 2009, p. 58).

Fischer & Krecke
This year this award was won by the second nominee, Fischer & Krecke with their smartGPS. MPS congratulates Fischer & Krecke with this award!
